Frequently Asked Questions

How do I rent an RV?
Just Call us!

What constitutes a “Rental Day”?
Similar to a hotel, the Rental Day is based on number of nights the vehicle is used. Each night constitutes a rental day.

Is it difficult to drive a motorhome?
Motorhomes handle much like a car, especially the “C“ class which has a van chassis.

Do I need a special license to drive a motorhome?
No. You only need a standard driver’s license.

Is there a minimum age for drivers?
Yes. All drivers must be at least 25 years old.

What are the insurance requirements?
You are responsible for all damage or loss you cause to others. You agree to provide auto liability, collision and comprehensive insurance covering you, us, and the Vehicle. Where State law requires us to provide auto liability insurance, or if you have no auto liability insurance, we provide auto liability insurance (the Policy) that is secondary to any other valid and collectible insurance, whether primary, secondary, excess or contingent. The Policy provides bodily injury and property damage liability coverage with limits no higher than minimum levels prescribed by the financial responsibility laws of the State whose laws apply to the loss. You and we reject PIP, medical payments, no-fault and uninsured and under-insured motorist coverage, where permitted by law. Coverage is void if you violate the terms of the Rental Contract or if you fail to cooperate in any loss investigation conducted by us, or our insurer. The Policy does not cover losses caused by drivers of the Vehicle who are not Authorized Drivers. You have the option to purchase RV Supplemental Liability Insurance. This is purchased online directly with an insurance company, not Kerr Lake RV Rentals. While you would need to check with the insurance carrier for prevailing coverage terms it is not uncommon to obtain liability coverage up to $1,000,000.  More info is available as needed.

These rental rates are provided as a general indication of our nightly rates for each RV model, so for more accurate pricing you will need to call. For example our rental rates are higher during our prime summer season and higher still during the popular July 4th holiday week, but lower during the winter or “shoulder” months. Our rates are subject to change anytime for any reason.

Reservation Fee:
$500 for motorhomes and $300 for trailers to be charged immediately to hold booking. The Reservation Fee converts to a Security Deposit once you pick up the RV. Any balance due to be paid 3 weeks before unit leaves. Adjustments for gasoline, mileage, and generator will be made when unit is checked in. The separate security deposit will be refunded within approximately 3 weeks after return of RV less the cost of any adjustments or damage. Renter must possess valid driver’s license and credit card.

Collision Damage Waiver:
Motorhomes have a $30 per night fee for a $1,500 collision damage waiver, and trailers have a $15 per night fee for a $1,500 collision damage waiver. This reduces renter’s liability from the full value of the RV.

Mileage to be estimated for a round trip and paid before leaving and adjusted when unit is returned. No mileage fees on travel trailers. All motorhomes receive 200 miles/night free. Additional miles are figured as shown in the following example. A 10 day trip gets 2000 free miles, the next 1000 miles are billed at $.35/mile, the next 1000 billed at $.75 and the next 1000 at $1.50. Most rentals fall within the first (free) or second tier $.35.

Gasoline Adjustment:
Gasoline tanks start full and should be filled when unit is returned. If the fuel tank is not full upon return, you will be charged a fair rate per gallon for refueling plus we may charge you a $100 petro refilling charge.
Prep & Cleaning Fee:
A cleaning fee of $100 will be charged if the RV is returned unclean.

$3 per hour if used.
Generator is only needed when vehicle is in motion or at a campsite without electricity for the following items: Rooftop A/C unit, microwave, and wall outlets.

We are pet friendly. You must pay a flat $125 pet fee per trip and obtain our pre-approval. If you do not get our pre-approval and pay the pet fee we have the right to charge you the pet fee and a $250 penalty.

We allow towing on limited occasions with our pre-approval and with a towing fee. We do not allow towing of vehicles.
